Tassimo Review & Giveaway: I'm In Love

Valentine's Day is right around the corner and I'm in love....with my new Tassimo. I thought I'd given up on great tasting coffee made at home. Not so. This unit makes the best tasting coffee at home that I've ever tasted. Not to mention that it also can make my favorites, lattes and cappuccinos!

The Tassimo T20 Brewing System makes coffee, tea, cappuccino, latte, crema, espresso and hot cocoa. Its roughly the size of your standard traditional coffee maker and takes up very little precious counter top space. It conveniently holds 1.5 liters of water in the reservoir tank in the back of the machine, making it quick and easy to brew yourself a drink in under 1 minute start to finish.

Did I mention that this machine is smart too? It knows what kind of beverage you are making! Each Tassimo Disc (also known as a "T Disc") has a small bar code on it and when you place the T Disc into the machine and shut it, it reads the bar code and knows exactly the proper temperature and pressure to apply to make the perfect drink every time.

I love a good latte or cappuccino. Its one of my splurges whenever we get coffee out somewhere. At $3+, its definitely not an everyday thing, although I wish it were! With the Tassimo, I can make myself a latte or cappuccino whenever I want. At a cost of under a buck, you can make it at home, that tastes just as good as the pricey coffee house ones.

The Tassimo T20 that I received was super easy to use. Simply take it out of the box and follow some quick set up instructions and your ready to roll!



Of course I dove right into the Gevalia Skinny Cappuccinos T Discs. You simply open the top of the brewer, place one of the espresso T Discs in, shut it and hit the start button. Once the espresso is brewed, you open the top of the brewer, remove the used disc and insert the T Disc for the milk, shut it and again hit the start button.



I have to admit I was a little skeptical about the machine's ability to have authentic foam. I owned an expensive cappuccino machine a few years back, and it didn't even produce the right consistency and quality of foam that the Tassimo did, which was done with no effort on my part, the brewing system does it all.



It also makes a mean cup of coffee too. Its piping hot and brewed just right, not at all burnt tasting or too weak either. I really like the variety of brands that are available for the Tassimo, from Starbucks to Maxwell House that come in nice selection of flavors and roasts. You can also make REAL hot chocolate on this machine. The Milka Hot Chocolate T Discs are really chocolate inside, not powdered cocoa.
