K'NEX Roary the Racecar Silver Hatch Garage Set Review

Take a break from the race to tune up Roary® the Racing Car in the Silver Hatch Garage! Your child can build the Silver Hatch Racetrack Garage to really experience a day in the world of Roary®! Set includes 40 chunky pieces for easy building fun with buildable gas pumps, removable hood on Roary®'s car, floor mat, and other accessories for realistic and thrilling after-building play! Set also offers interactive packaging and an adapter that lets car run on popular train track systems you may already own. For ages 3+.

I tend to gravitate towards toys that allow your child a little creativity all the while they use their imagination and practice fine motor skills.  My son being 3 is at the age that he loves everything car related and also likes to build things.  This Roary the Racing Car set from K'NEX was perfect for him.  The moment he spotted the box he had to open it and help me put it together.

It was super simple to build together, even with the "help" of a 3 year old.  Once together he immediately got down on the floor and started playing with it, to the point where he would barely let me take a picture of the set without him in it! He loved it that much.

Do you see that little green car next to Roary? That is an adapter to use with Roary so he can then drive on those wooden train tracks like we have for his thomas the Train sets, making this K'NEX set versatile. I thought that was a really nice added touch for K'NEX to include.

The K'NEX Roary the Racecar Silver Hatch Garage Building Set retails for $24.99 and can be purchased directly from K'NEX on their website or Walmart, Target and Amazon.com.

Maple Syrup Anyone?

If there is one thing I don't "cheap" out on is maple syrup.  I refuse to buy the fake stuff.  Just call it a matter of preference really and perhaps I'd feel differently if I had five kids who poured the stuff on everything, but since we are just a family of three, I can buy the good stuff.  Here is a really good deal on maple syrup from Amazon.com.  Its even the Grade B, which is the darker more flavorful variety, good stuff! Perfect for drizzling over roasted butternut squash. And did I mention pancakes? Yum. Pancakes!

Highland Sugarworks 100% Grade B Maple Syrup, 32-Ounce Jug for just $15.62 after the Subscribe & Save discount. Considering the same size containers of maple syrup costs at least $20 at the grocery store, this is a good deal!

You can also opt for the Highland Sugarworks Maple Syrup, Medium Amber, 32-Ounce Jug for just $14.91 after the Subscribe & Save discount. Or if you prefer organic, the Highland Sugarworks Pure Organic Grade A Dark Amber Maple Syrup, 32-Ounce Jug would be $17.27 after the Subscribe & Save discount.

Remember you can cancel or change your Subscribe & Save option at any time with no penalty and no hassle.

Gyro Bowl Review & Giveaway

Boy do I wish that I had seen this thing about 2 years ago with my little guy was just starting to tote around his snacks. It would have saved me a whole lot of grief and mess.  The Gyro Bowl is a snack bowl for kids designed to be spill-proof even if you tip it upside down.  The inner bowl rotates 360 degrees, thus the bowl is never upside down and the contents never spill.

Gyro Bowl Features:
  • Kid-proof 360 degree technology
  • Virtually indestructable
  • Saves time, no more cleaning
  • BPA plastic free
  • Top rack dishwasher safe

I road tested the Gyro Bowl this morning during some errands and put a handful of Cheerios into it.  The bowl worked as they claim, the contents wouldn't spill out even with my son trying to tip it on purpose.  My only criticism would be that some of the Cheerios got lodged between the bowl itself and the outer area, which caused the bowl to no longer rotate and thus creating the potential for the contents to spill.  Overall this is a fun, novel product and perfect for toddlers and preschoolers, especially to take on the go.

The Gyro Bowl retails for $14.99 and can be purchased online directly through the company or in retail stores like Target and Walmart.

GIVEAWAY:
One lucky reader will win a Gyro Bowl
